(ON)-ON-OFF Rocker Switch – engine run/start switch

The VMDJ-GXXB is perfect for an engine rocker switch.  It is OFF at the bottom, ON in the center, and Momentary (ON) at the top.

The center ON position is maintained while the momentary (ON) function at the top is being pressed.  This rocker switch is commonly used to crank an engine in a keyless system with an OFF/Run/Start combination.  It’s also commonly used with a windshield wiper/washer setup.

Our VMDJ-GXXB has a nifty brass jumper pre-applied between the two input terminals (T2 and T5).  The jumper is removable if you wish, but only necessary if you need to use a different source or circuit protection for your “run” and “start” functions.

This engine rocker switch has an independent white light at the top, so it illuminates the top etching at night.  The bottom lamp is dependent and automatically comes on when the switch is in the run (center) position.

See images and PDF download below for the 2 page engine rocker switch wiring diagram.  Terminal 2 and 5 are the inputs.  Terminal 3 is the maintained center position output, and terminal 6 is the momentary upper position output.

This is a rocker switch body only.  This V-series switch is meant to be paired with our custom etched rocker actuators (covers) or other actuators for a complete switch unit.  All actuators sold on this site will fit this switch.  When using our custom etched actuators you would want to add a “Bottom Lens” for this switch (What’s this?).
