VAD1-GXXB Double Pole, Illuminated Rocker Switch

The VAD1-GXXB is a double pole variation of our most common blue LED switch – the single pole V1D1-GXXB.

Our VAD1 rocker switch is Double Pole Single Throw (DPST) and it’s function is ON-OFF.

Like it’s Single Pole cousin, this rocker switch is setup for panel illumination with an independent lamp at the top, and one dependent red LED at the bottom (What’s this?) that functions as an indicator light.

Some examples of when you might need this Double Pole illuminated switch are:

1. You’re switching a negative, but also want the great lighting effects of our illuminated switches.  You can put 12V into T2, and the dependent light will still work
2. You’re turning on two separate devices that need to be individually circuit protected (like two bilge pumps on a boat at once)
3. You just need to short two contacts on a microcontroller or FPGA without potential being applied to your controller board

Unless you have a unique situation like these, the less expensive single pole variation V1D1G66B will usually suffice for most automotive needs.

Note, the dependent lamp in this switch is tied to the first pole (T2-3), so you should use T2 as the 12Vdc + input.  Terminals 5 and 6 are internally tied to nothing, so use those as your dry contact terminals. (see illumination chart on the wiring diagram for details).

This is a rocker switch body only.  This V-series switch is meant to be paired with our custom etched rocker actuators (covers) or other actuators for a complete switch unit.

Like all our rocker switches this is a genuine Carling Technologies product.  It is IP68 sealed dustproof and waterproof.
