Product Description

Push to Reset Circuit Breaker

This thermal push to reset circuit breaker from Carling (CMB series) is perfect for protecting all the circuits controlled by your new rocker switches.  Each breaker includes water/dust resistant black threaded boot.  Choose from 3A, 5A, 7A, 10A, 15A or 20A current ratings in the drop down menu above.

This breaker has a compact form factor at only 1.15″ wide x 0.53″ high, and a depth of only 1.33″ behind the panel.  It is super easy to panel mount in material up to 1/4″ thick using a 3/8″ drill bit.  This circuit breaker is a cost effective alternative to a fuse block.  With a precise and simple design and few moving parts it is a very reliable means of circuit protection.

When your breaker trips, the small plunger pops out under the black boot (you can feel it inside the boot sticking out).  Once the fault is cleared, simply press it back in to reset the breaker and close the circuit again.

This CMB breaker has standard 0.250″ quick connect terminals (so grab some if you don’t have them), and be sure to pickup some piggyback connectors as well to gang the source side of multiple breakers together.

Carling CMB series breaker cert’s include: UL, CUL, TUV, CE and UL15001/ISO8846 for ignition protection.  While typically used at 12Vdc with our rocker switches, it is suitable for use up to 32Vdc and 125-250Vac.  This is a single pole breaker.

When sizing a circuit breaker there are two main factors to consider: (1) the load’s current draw, and (2) the wiring’s current rating.  Make sure and select a breaker size larger than the end device’s current draw, and smaller than the wiring’s current rating.  As a general rule of thumb: 5A is suitable for small LED lights, 10A for larger lights or small pumps, 15A is generally good for larger pumps or small motors, and 20A is generally reserved for larger motors and higher current devices.
