Carling Rotary Switch

The RV14B-1S000B is a neat new switch from Carling.  Same, excellent engineering from Carling but in a rotary style switch instead of a rocker!  This flexible switch has non-detachable knob.  This carling rotary switch fits in the same hole size, and has same terminal type and configuration as their popular V-series contura rocker switches.

It is Double Pole Double Throw (DPDT) and it’s function is ON-ON.  It has no light.  This switch is used as an A-B switch, meaning you send power to EITHER load A, or B… but is technically never off.   This is perfect, for something like a fuel gauge selector switch (reading two tanks off one gauge), or a battery voltage selector switch.

Notice it’s a Double Pole, so you can have two separate isolated inputs.  It technically has no center off position, but simply don’t hook up one of the outputs and can be used as an ON-OFF… like for an “engine start” that feels more like a key ignition (turning, vice pushing).

Note this is commonly called a “3-way” switch in the U.S. where two of these are used to operate one device from two DIFFERENT locations (like how the light in a kitchen may be turned on from either the exterior door, or the hall entry).

This is a complete switch, you do not need  an actuator for this switch.
